Unfortunately we were unable to meet in person for our 25th ACME Souther Nationals and instead relied on the Internet to host our 25th show. The overall results were pretty amazing with over 2,100 models entered, but let’s be honest nothing beats attending a show/contest in person. From seeing old friends, making new ones, searching the vendor tables for that special model, set of decals, after market parts, and seeing all the cool models on display being there in person is awesome.
This year ACME celebrates its 25th anniversary on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at the Smyrna Community Center, Smyrna GA 30080. The team has been and continues to work to make the 2021 ACME Southern Nationals one to remember. In celebration of our 25th anniversary the theme for 2021 is “Precious Metals”, any model painted in gold, silver, bronze, copper, etc.
You will be able to register on-line beginning in October and as in the past you will be able to pre-pay your registration or purchase an “Early Bird Pass”. Please note the “Early Bird Pass” includes your registration fee as well. For 2021 regular Registration is $12.00 regardless of the number of entries. Early Bird Passes are $30.00 per person.
We learned a lot from our online show and are using this to have a true web theme for 2021. Harold Sullins was a long time member of ACME and served in several leadership positions during the early days of the club and always supported the club and our show. Harold enjoyed building all types of car models but his passion was Muscle Cars especially any variety of Dodge or Plymouth. Unfortunately Harold passed away in 2020 and is truly missed. To honor Harold we will have an on-line only theme – The Harold Sullins Memorial Muscle Car Challenge. It will be open to any type of muscle car and open to anyone – anywhere. A separate trophy will be awarded based on overall popular vote. More to come as we fine tune the software and determine the timelines for entering and voting.
We expanded our footprint in the Smyrna Community Center to provide a “real” break area – definitely more comfortable than the gymnasium stairs. Hopefully we will have some “how-to” seminars as well.
Meeting folks in the hospitality room at the host hotel is always a great time, besides catching up with friends an, talking shop you can also pick up your registration packets if you registered on-line out register during the evening and purchase your Early Bird pass. Vendors may also pickup their information Friday evening as well.
Regarding the Comfort Suites Hotel, you must call the hotel directly (770-541-1499) and use Group Code “ACME” in order to receive the group rate.
